On Oct. 15, 2025, Insider Gaming published a report revealing that EA is reportedly already doing some work on Battlefield 6’s naval warfare mode. The outlet received strings of code that contain two lines suggesting its development.
They are:
- Game/GlacierMP/Kits/Vehicle_Neutral_Boat_JetSki
- Game/GlacierMP/Kits/Vehicle_Neutral_Boat_RHIB
For context, Glacier was EA’s codename for Battlefield 6, and “MP” stands for “Multiplayer.” The ones that follow indicate that the asset is a vehicle and that it is a boat that players might be able to ride on. The RHIB part means “Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boats,” and the “Jet Ski” is self-explanatory.
In its Season 1 roadmap preview published earlier this month, the developers said that requests for naval warfare “have not gone unnoticed.” While there are specific lines of code suggesting that the developers are doing work related to the feature, there’s still no release date, and it might take a while for it to be implemented, as most of the maps in Battlefield 6 do not have large water areas.
Recently, Battlefield 6 has been reported to have earned over $350 million in revenue less than a week after its launch. The game also has a PC-first audience, with PlayStation following and Xbox players being the minority.
