Key points

  1. Epic Games has sued two individuals for committing fraud using the Unreal Editor for Fortnite Creators program.
  2. According to the company, the two used botting to artificially inflate the engagement their islands were getting.
  3. Epic Games is seeking compensation, but court documents do not say how much.

On Oct. 7, 2025, Epic Games announced that it had sued two Unreal Editor for Fortnite Creators (UEFN), alleging that the two had used bot player accounts to improve their island’s engagements, resulting in a higher payout.

The two individuals are Idris Nahdi and Ayob Nasser from Michigan. Epic Games said that what the two have done has hurt Epic and the Fortnite community. The company explained that before the two were caught, both of them were “paid tens of thousands of dollars in unearned payments from Epic that would otherwise have been paid out to other developers who earned genuine engagement from real Fortnite players.”

To clarify, Epic Games offers a program in Unreal Editor for Fortnite Creators where the company pays players if their island receives engagement from players. The two individuals allegedly committed fraud by artificially inflating the engagement of their islands by using bots to engage in it.

Epic Games is seeking damages and an injunction to make the two individuals immediately stop their actions. While the company said that it is seeking compensation, court documents do not say how much the company is asking.

The company isn’t new to suing players who take advantage of their programs. Recently, Epic Games sued a cheat developer and promised it would also hunt down anyone disseminating cheats and sue them, too.
