On Oct. 2, 2025, the developers of Megabonk, a roguelike bullet heaven, announced on X that the game had sold 1 million copies in just two weeks. Megabonk has been popular with content creators and streamers, which contributed to its success.

The game has been the source of addiction for streamers such as Jaryd “Summit1g” Lazar and Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, with the latter even saying that Megabonk might be the game of the year because of how much he enjoys it.

Recently, the game has also clocked in over 80,000 concurrent players on Steam, a feat for an indie game. As of the writing of this article, it is also No. 11 in daily active users and in the top eight in Steam global top sellers.

Megabonk was released on Sept. 19, 2025, for the PC.

The gameplay involves players running around killing hordes of monsters and picking up power-ups to defeat bosses.
