Sega has confirmed that Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is arriving on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The developers confirmed that there will be no upgrade path from the original Yakuza 0.
The game’s Steam store page states, “Yakuza 0 cannot be upgraded to Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut,” and “Save data from Yakuza 0 does not carry over to Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut,” making it a double purchase for those who already own Yakuza 0.
Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut was a timed exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2 before the announcement today that it will be coming to other consoles. The difference between the original Yakuza 0 and the director’s cut is that the latter features new cutscenes, new voiceover dubs and an online multiplayer mode called the Red Light Raid.
Additionally, the Switch 2 version of the game runs at 4K resolution in TV mode, and it’s expected to be the same way on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is coming to the aforementioned consoles on Dec. 8, 2025. The Nintendo Switch 2 version was released on June 5, 2025, as part of the console’s launch titles.
