It is worth noting that the announcement coincides with two horror game-related events happening this week.
The first is the launch of a new standalone entry in the Silent Hill franchise, a survival horror game developed by NeoBards Entertainment and published by Konami Digital Entertainment, Silent Hill f, on Sept. 25, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X|S.
The second is closely related to Stellar Blade, as the other title from its developer, Shift Up, Goddess of Victory: Nikke, is currently running a collaborative event with the Resident Evil franchise.
Stellar Blade follows the story of Eve, who was deployed from the Colony to a post-apocalyptic Earth with her squad to fight the Naytibas, monstrous creatures that forced humanity to abandon their planet.
In addition to the base game, Stellar Blade has received two DLCs: one in collaboration with Nier: Automata and another with Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
As of the time of writing, the title has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam with 38,966 reviews and a peak of 192,078 concurrent players, according to SteamDB.
As of June 2025, Stellar Blade has surpassed 3 million units sold worldwide across all platforms of its presence.
Notably, the title’s sequel is currently in active development, as reported by Gaming.News.
