Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past

Dragon Quest VII follows the epic journey of a young hero, the son of a legendary fisherman from Pilchard Bay on Estard Island—the sole landmass in a mystical world. Along with his friends, he embarks on thrilling quests throughout the historical realms, uncovering the rich lore of their universe. As they travel back in time to explore various lands and resolve key conflicts, they ultimately manifest these ancient territories on the current game map.

The adventure kicks off when the hero and his companion Kiefer stumble upon an enigmatic map fragment brought home from a fishing expedition. Their quest leads to the shocking revelation that their seemingly isolated island was once part of a vast world filled with multiple continents, all now mysteriously sealed away. By placing additional stone fragments discovered during their journey onto pedestals within Estard’s ancient ruins, the heroes are transported to different historical locations, which they eventually learn to restore. Each area they save brings its corresponding landmass back into the present.

After successfully reviving the world, they face a new threat: Orgodemir, the Demonlord, who disguises himself as the Almighty and casts several islands, including Estard, into darkness once again. The heroes must now embark on a mission to awaken the elemental spirits of Wind, Fire, Earth, and Water. Orgodemir’s true nature as the Demonlord is exposed, revealing his deceitful intentions towards humanity. As he raises the Cathedral of Blight and strengthens his power with the Skystone, the party confront
