Vampire Survivors open beta test for online mode began on Aug. 29, 2025, allowing players to freely roam around independent of the stage. Features for the open beta are expected to be added by late September, after which the beta will simply fully launch; no exact date for the full launch is currently available.
The online mode has no matchmaking and will be purely cooperative. Players can share room codes and join rooms through platform invites; no cross-platform play is supported at launch.
In the official blog post, the developers stated that they are looking into adding cross-platform play, but the “bureaucracy from certain platforms is insane and clearly thought for massive titles, so [they’ll] worry about it later.”
The online update for the base game on PC and console to include Online mode will be a free update; for the mobile version, players will have to purchase at least one expansion pack to enable Online mode.
The update includes 15 new achievements to unlock:
- 2 new stages
- 2 new characters
- 2 new weapons and their evolutions
- 1 old passive weapon
- 3 new darkanas
- 3 new relics to get:
- 1 new power-up
- 1 new character transformation
- 1 new game mode: PARTY MODE
To avoid spoilers and keep true to the official patch notes, the exact new characters and their abilities will not be shown here. The character descriptions can be found on the official blog post; the descriptions are hidden in a black highlight.
