The game became available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC.
Developed by Lizardcube, the studio behind the critically acclaimed 2020 beat-em-up Streets of Rage 4, and published by Sega, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance allows players to assume control of series protagonist Joe Musashi as he embarks on a journey of revenge after finding his village decimated by a military organization named ENE Corporation, led by Lord Ruse.
The protagonist is armed with a sword and kunai (a Japanese throwing weapon) but can also use magical powers called Ninpo to defeat his enemies.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance will receive an additional stage as downloadable content in 2026 featuring boss battles with three villains from other Sega franchises, including Doctor Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog.
As of the time of writing, the title offers a free playable demo on each platform where it is available.
