On Aug. 27, 2025, PlayStation revealed in a blog post three games that are joining PlayStation Plus: Stardew Valley, Psychonauts 2 and Viewfinder. Players will be able to play them on Sept. 2.
Stardew Valley, while released relatively recently, became an instant classic in the farming life simulator genre shortly after its release. As of December 2024, Stardew Valley has sold over 41 million copies since it was released back in 2016. Additionally, it also won awards such as the “Breakthrough Award” at the Golden Joystick Awards 2016 and “The World Is Grim Enough Let’s Just All Get Along” award at The Steam Awards 2017.
Psychonauts 2, on the other hand, was developed by Double Fine and published by Xbox Game Studios. It’s a platformer game released in 2021. As of April 2022, the game has sold at least 1.7 million copies. It has won awards such as “Xbox Game of the Year” at the Golden Joystick Awards 2021 and “Best Narrative” at the 22nd Game Developers Choice Awards.
Viewfinder, while being sandwiched between two titans, can definitely handle itself. It was first released in 2023 on the PlayStation 5 and PC. A PlayStation 4 version followed shortly, and an Xbox Series X|S version was released just this month. A Switch version is currently planned for Q4 2025.
It won “Best British Game” and “Best New Intellectual Property” at the 20th British Academy Games Awards and the “Game Designers Award” at the Japan Game Awards 2024.
