The Epic Games Store is currently offering both Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge and Strange Horticulture for free until Aug. 28, 2025. Both games are highly rated in the aforementioned digital storefront.
Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge is described by its creators as a “cozy frog collecting game,” tasking players to take pictures of frogs and decorate their habitat. The game has over 500 frogs for people to collect and even has a “special breeding mini-game” where players can unlock rare colors of their favorite frog.
Strange Horticulture, just like Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge, is another indie game, but it focuses more on the occult this time. Not as cozy as the other game, Strange Horticulture’s developer calls it an “occult puzzle game,” where players are put in the shoes of an owner of a local plant store and identify plants.
Players will also encounter a colorful cast of characters that they will interact with as they continue their investigation into the occult.
