Overwatch 2’s recent trailer for Season 18, Stadium Quick Play, teased a collaboration with Persona 5, as a screen similar to Joker’s win screen in Persona 5 can be seen near the end of the trailer. The developers did not reveal which heroes will be getting skins.
The trailer was posted on Aug. 21, 2025, and showcased some of the changes that the developers are introducing to the game when the new season drops. This includes the addition of Winston, Brigitte and Pharah to the Stadium Hero rotation. Tracer will join later in the season.
The new season will also bring along a new support hero: Wuyang. This hero looks to be a disruptive force on the battlefield, with most of their abilities able to knock back or even knock down enemies, in addition to being able to heal their allies.
Season 18 will also have a soft matchmaking rating reset, together with fresh placement matches. Blizzard mentioned that “adjusted rank thresholds (especially in higher tiers) better reflect true skill, and tighter MMR ranges make it easier to squad up with friends in ranked.”
Blizzard is adding a lot more to the game, including two new mythic skins, the return of the Summer Games, Hero Progression 2.0, Hero Skill Rating and an advanced info panel. The developers also said that they are currently creating a Hero Stats webpage for players to be able to track their data.
Overwatch 2 Season 18 will start on Aug. 26, 2025. The game is available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
