Marvel Rivals is implementing a bi-seasonal ranked reset – with the first reset coming February 21, 2025 at 8:00 am UTC. This marks the end of the first half of Marvel Rivals season 1, during which Netease will be lowering every players’ rank by four divisions.

“For example, if you ended the first half of Season 1 at Diamond I, you’ll start the second half at Platinum II,” Netease said, providing an example of how the soft reset will function.

The rewards for participating in the first half of Marvel Rivals Season 1 are as followed:

The second half of the season will feature a new costume reward for hitting Gold Rank, alongside a brand new Crests of Honor. For the ranked split’s costume reward, players only have to hit Gold once – they do not have to stay above gold until the end of the season.

As of February 10, the second costume reward for Marvel Rivals season 1 has not been revealed, while the Crests of Honor are exclusive emblems that allow players to flaunt their ranked achievements.

Netease is implementing a minimum barrier of entry to acquire the rewards:

“Starting from the second half of Season 1, players will need to complete at least 10 matches in competitive mode and meet the required conditions to claim their rewards,” they stated.

In addition to the soft ranked reset for Marvel Rivals Season 1, they are also releasing two new heroes: The Thing and Human Torch. This indicates a four hero release cycle per season – a release schedule the developers may repeat for future season updates.
