Lords of the Fallen II announcement trailer revealed a 2026 release schedule for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. The fantasy action-RPG soulslike takes place a century after its predecessor, sharing the same narrative universe. The Umbral calamity has continued to spread, with the veil between realms fragile enough for “the horrors of he dark to slip between worlds.”
The Lords of the Fallen II CGI trailer debuted during Gamescom opening night live broadcast on Aug. 19, 2025.
Combat is marketed to be faster paced and more decisive; it was build off of the foundation of the fan favorite formula introduced in Lords of the Fallen v2.0, which was released in March of 2025, according to the official PlayStation blog post. Boss encounters remain the foundation of the gameplay experience, with cinematic showdowns marketed to feel more epic than ever.
The 2.0 was a major update for the 2023 title, providing an overhaul that addressed technical issues and incorporated extensive community feedback from over 50 post-launch updates. The update included refined combat and movement, quality of life improvements, and the Free Friend’s Pass, allowing players to join a co-op session without owning the game.
