On Aug. 19, 2025, X user SadlyItsDadley spotted Valve’s Fremont console on Geekbench. According to its specification sheet on the site, the console will use AMD’s Custom CPU 1772, which is related to AMD’s Hawk Point 2, according to Wccftech.
Sure enough, Hawk Point 2 is shown under Codename, which means that this console will use a chip based on the Zen 4 core architecture. The CPU seems to have a base frequency of 3.2 GHz and will have 6 cores and 12 threads. It will also have 8 GB DDR5 SDRAM and have a transfer rate of 5586 MT/s.
Compared to Valve’s Galileo, which is the Steam Deck OLED, it seems that Fremont will be a lot more powerful. Additionally, previous leaks about the device via Gizmodo speculate that it might be a game console that consumers will hook up to their TVs like a PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series X|S.
Aside from this, the console will also reportedly use an AMD Radeon RX 7600 series GPU. Wccftech mentioned that this is going to be based on the RDNA 3 architecture. The outlet also added that there’s no specification sheet available for this specific GPU. As of publication time, there is no information regarding the device from Valve itself.
