Key points

  1. A Palworld knockoff has been spotted on the Nintendo eShop.
  2. The developers published the game amid Nintendo suing Palworld regarding a few mechanics in its game.
  3. As of the writing of this article, the game is still available on the Nintendo eShop.

An obvious ripoff of Palworld, Palland has recently launched on the Nintendo Switch eShop. This happened amid Nintendo suing Palworld because of its monster-catching mechanics and gliding features, forcing Palworld developers to change them.

Palland’s visuals and core gameplay mechanics are easily inspired by Palworld. Players can create their bases, gather materials and even tame creatures in the world, but in Palland’s case, it seems that players will have to craft them instead.

The game’s trailer shows the monsters they’ve crafted helping them defeat other monsters around them. Additionally, crafting has also been showcased, but it isn’t as deep as Palworld’s, opting more for a preset rather than building it one by one.

Palland’s developer, BoggySoft, has a history of ripping off other games and uploading them to the Nintendo eShop. One of its games, Only Up!, is a ripoff of a game with a similar name. Additionally, it also has a game called Thief Life Simulator, which is a ripoff of Thief Simulator.

As of the writing of this article, all three of these games are still available on the Nintendo eShop. It’s unclear whether Nintendo will take action and remove them, but the eShop has been home to some shovelware and very low-quality games, like a game obviously based on One Piece.
