On Aug. 9, 2025, EA announced that the recent open beta test for Battlefield 6 was the biggest one in the franchise. Because of this, the developers advised players to be patient, as there will be queues due to peak time approaching, according to an X post.
In the same post, EA promised it would work on entry times to the game, which means faster queues and less waiting. It also added that it wants all the players who got into the test to have a “smooth and fair Open Beta.”
Recently, Battlefield 6 received some backlash due to EA requiring all players who want to play the game to have Secure Boot turned on in the BIOS. The process of turning this option on might be confusing for those not too tech-savvy. The primary reason developers are asking players to enable them is to eliminate cheaters from the game.
Despite this, there were still cheaters spotted in the game, with people posting videos of certain cheating software working in the game. EA has not released a statement regarding cheaters as of the writing of this article.
Battlefield 6 is currently one of the most played games on Steam. It reached an all-time concurrent player peak of 521,079 players with a 24-hour peak of 479,611 players in the game. Take note that this is only on Steam, and there are still a lot of players to be accounted for on consoles.
The game is expected to be released on Oct. 10, 2025, for the PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
