Despite various anti-cheat measures, Battlefield 6 cheaters have already been spotted during week 1 of the open beta. The game requires PC players to turn on Secure Boot for their BIOS, a decision EA implemented to help prevent cheating. Acoredding to EA, the Secure Boot helps prevent the following forms of cheating:
- Kernel-Level Cheats and Rootkits
- Memory Manipulation and Injection
- Spoofing and Hardware ID Manipulation
- Virtual Machines and Emulation
- Tampering with Anti-Cheat Systems
Battlefield 2042 had the same anti-cheat system, called EA Javelin. The system was introduced in April of 2025, which is EA’s evolution of its flagship anticheat system. The goal of Javelin Anticheat is to “foster a gaming environment where skill and sportsmanship are the only path to victory.”
Battlefield 6 open beta first wave began on Aug. 7 and concludes on Aug. 10; the next open beta phase goes from Aug. 14 to Aug. 17. Before the first wave, over 40,000 players were in queue waiting for the testing period to begin. When the open beta officially started, over 270,000 players were waiting in the queue. On Steam alone, the game amassed over 300,000 concurrent players.
