Fortnite OG Expert Game Mode Removes Bots from Matchmaking

|
- Fortnite OG Expert Mode no longer has any bots.
- The game mode has no skill-based matchmaking, instead randomly grouping players together.
- The game is exclusive to duos.
Fortnite OG Expert Mode is officially bot-free, meaning no AI players are roaming around the map pick-axing random objects and missing all their shots. Instead, the game-mode matches players up randomly. Fortnite OG Expert mode’s matchmaking is reminiscent of the old matchmaking algorithm, where skill-based matchmaking did not exist.
The removal of bots was highlighted towards the end of July, marketed to help promote Fortnite OG Expert Mode’s debut. The game mode is exclusive to duos, meaning players can either go in alone, with a single friend, or get filled into a random duo squad. This allows players to experience unpredictable challenges.
As of writing, the other main battle royale modes in Fortnite still have bots cluttering the matchmaking. No news regarding the removal of bots in other game modes has been revealed.
Fortnite is soon celebrating its next event, Super Showdown. The event will change the landscape of Demon’s Domain, where a villainous boss currently resides. The event begins on Aug. 2 at 11:30 am PDT; the exact nature of the narrative developments alongside map changes to occur are not yet known.
