Delta Force Hits New Peak in Concurrent Players

Delta Force reached a new peak of 198,809 concurrent players, according to SteamDB.

The achievement coincided with two events related to Delta Force esports that happened during the weekend of July 26–27, 2025.

The Delta Force Elite Invitational, an event featuring teams of streamers battling in a best-of-five competition, ran on those dates and concluded with a win by team Itznowh3re, which included Itznowh3re himself, EqualPlays, and Singsong, in the North American tournament, along with a win by team Stikinson, which included Stikinson himself, KeyZer, and Starbaxxer, in the European tournament. Each winner received a $4,000 prize.

Besides that, July 27, 2025, was the last date players could register for open qualifiers to the Delta Force Invitational, whose Grand Finals will take place in September 2025 in China, featuring a $500,000 total prize pool.

Officially launched on April 21, 2025, for Windows PC via Epic Games Store and Steam, and for iOS and Android platforms, Delta Force is also slated for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on August 19, 2025.

The game is set in 2035 and follows a large corporation, Haavk, as it attempts to take over a fictional North African region, Ahsarah. In this free-to-play first-person tactical shooter, players assume the role of a military operator working for an international paramilitary group called the Global Threat Initiative, which seeks to foil Haavk’s plans.

Delta Force was inspired by the 2001 film Black Hawk Down, directed by Ridley Scott, and the 2003 shooter Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. That is also the reason why the game features single-player and cooperative modes closely based on the film and set in 1993, when United States forces participated in the Somali conflict.
