Developed by Koei Tecmo and published by Electronic Arts, the game was initially released on Feb. 17, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S. As of the time of writing, the game is missing a port for the first generation of the Nintendo Switch, with no news about the release of such a version.
Set in Azuma, a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan, the game allows players to assume the role of a nameless hunter tasked to hunt down massive monsters known as Kemono. Wild Hearts S features eight different weapon types, including iron-like wagasa and katana. Besides weapons players can use on the hunt, there are special devices they can create via the Karakuri mechanic. Notably, players can team up in groups of four as they progress in the game.
