Nintendo has released its latest employee data dated from April 2024 to March 2025, and it shows just how high the employee retention rate is in the Japanese company. According to Nintendo, its total turnover rate in Japan is only 1.9%.
In an industry filled with layoffs, Nintendo seems to be the only company not participating in the fad. Nintendo of America only has a turnover rate of 5.1%, which means that the company is doing well in keeping its employees working for it.
Additionally, Nintendo Japan has an average length of service of 14.4 years, and Nintendo of America has a total of 10 years. Nintendo of Europe has a higher average length of service than America at 11.1 years.
From April 2024 to March 2025, Nintendo of America hired the most out of Nintendo’s offices. It hired a total of 237 employees. Nintendo of Japan has only hired 182, and Europe only 28. Nintendo Australia doesn’t get talked about a lot of the time, but it exists and only has 99 employees, hiring 8 new ones during the aforementioned dates.
Nintendo is considered one of the big video game companies, together with Sony and Microsoft. While the other two have recently done layoffs in their studios, with Microsoft laying off a total of 9100 employees across multiple departments, Nintendo seems stable enough to be able to keep most of its hired employees.
