Fuudo Takes SF6 Blink Respawn Over Momochi, Qualifies for Capcom Cup 12

Keita “Fuudo” Ai won Blink Respawn’s Street Fighter 6 tournament over fellow Japanese player Yusuke “Momochi” Momochi. This win qualified him for a spot in the most coveted Street Fighter 6 tournament, the Capcom Cup 12.

Fuudo entered the top 8 from the losers side after losing to Tsunehiro “Gachikun” Kanamori in the top 24. From there, he had to fight Ding “DCQ” Yuhan to be able to qualify for the top 8 of Blink Respawn. He did so in quick fashion, not letting DCQ make a comeback, and finished the set 2-0.

In the top 8, Fuudo demolished his Losers Round 1, quarterfinal and semifinal. He only had problems against another Japanese player, Naoki “Moke” Nakayama, where he had to bring back the set after losing two quick games.

In the grand final, he faced Momochi, another Ed player. During the tournament, Fuudo was switching between Ed and Dee-Jay. He managed to defeat Momochi after switching over to Dee-Jay, prompting a bracket reset.

He continued to ride this momentum and closed out Blink Respawn with a 3-1 game count. Fuudo’s exemplary use of wake-up supers and reversals was the highlight of this tournament, considering that if he had guessed wrong at certain points of the match, he would have lost the tournament.

Blink Respawn was an event that took place over the weekend, from July 18 to July 20. It occurred in the Dominican Republic, one of the strongest regions in Street Fighter 6. This tournament qualified Momochi and French player Maivine “Kusanagi” Touitou for the Esports World Cup 2025.
