Final Fantasy XIV Ends Support For Windows 10 Systems

- Square Enix has announced that it will stop supporting Final Fantasy XIV on Windows 10 systems.
- The studio clarified that players will still be able to play the game on them, but support will be limited.
- Final Fantasy XIV is the most profitable entry in the Final Fantasy franchise.
On July 17, 2025, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIV will be ending support for Windows 10 on Oct. 14, 2025. According to the developers, they “found that continuing support for this operating system is a difficult proposition.”
The date of Final Fantasy XIV’s end of support for Windows 10 coincides with Microsoft stopping updates for it. There’s a good chance that this has something to do with why the game is stopping support for the operating system. Additionally, Steam is also ending its Windows 10 support on the same day.
Square Enix clarified that players will still be able to play the game on Windows 10 systems. However, support for problems from the aforementioned systems has no guarantees that technical support will be available for them. Square Enix may respond, but it’s going to be on a case-by-case basis.
Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG developed by Square Enix. The game first came out in 2010 but was shut down shortly after it did not meet expectations. A much improved version of the game came out in 2013. As of 2021, the game became the most profitable entry in the Final Fantasy franchise.
