Fortnite Will Reportedly Make Blitz Royale Permanent

|
- Fortnite reportedly has plans to make the Blitz Royale game mode permanent.
- Blitz Royale was supposed to end on Aug. 12 after its duration was extended in late June.
- The CEO of Epic Games himself has reposted the leak.
On July 18, a Fortnite leaker by the name of Backers published a post on X saying that the game mode Blitz Royale is going to be made permanent in Fortnite. The game mode proved to be popular when, in late June, the developers extended the game mode’s duration.
Blitz Royale is a limited-time mode and was initially set to end on July 15 after it was introduced on June 17. However, the developers have extended the limited game mode’s duration to Aug. 12 after seeing its popularity. Additionally, leakers have also shared their thoughts on what might be the next three themes after its adjustment, which they thought would be “Dragon Ball,” “Jujutsu Kaisen” and Mortal Kombat.
Now, it seems that the game mode’s popularity has convinced Fortnite’s developers to make it one of the game’s mainstay modes. To add more credibility to this rumor, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney has reposted the X post, saying that the game mode is going to be permanent.
However, even if the CEO of Epic Games has reposted it, the official Fortnite X account or website hasn’t commented on it. It’s safe to put player expectations at bay until the developers themselves announce whether the game mode is staying.
Fortnite’s Blitz Royale is a game mode that’s much quicker than the normal Battle Royale mode. It was developed with mobile users in mind due to how short the matches are. Each game lasts just five minutes, and all players start with the same medallion or unique weapon.
