Guild Wars 2 Unveils New Expansion Called Visions of Eternity

ArenaNet has finally announced Guild Wars 2’s next expansion, and it’s going to be called Visions of Eternity. According to a press release the developers published, the expansion will bring three major content updates, as well as a year of story chapters.
The developers are also going to bring back Elite Specializations during the expansion. Not much has been mentioned about which ones will be back, but there will be an in-game preview week from Aug. 20-27, where players are able to beta test all of the elite specializations.
Raids and strikes are going to be unified in 2026, which allows them to be accessible for new players and have much more streamlined rewards. Two new raid encounters are also going to be added in the major content update coming to the game.
Another big feature being added to the game during one of the major content updates of Visions of Eternity is the fashion template system. According to the developers, this system functions similarly to build and equipment templates, but this time, it’s all for fashion items.
Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity will be available on Oct. 28, 2025. Pre-purchase bonuses are already available for fans wanting to buy the expansion early. Those who do will receive the exclusive Plumed Commodore’s Hat helm skin, the exclusive “Eternal Alchemist” title and a box with their own choice of one Chromatic Resin weapon skin.
