Hotel Barcelona, developed by White Owls and published by Cult Games, is slated for release in September 2025.
The announcement came via a post on X (formerly Twitter) from one of the game’s designers, Hidetaka ‘Swery’ Suehiro (known for the creation of Deadly Premonition and The Good Life), who is working on Hotel Barcelona in collaboration with Goichi ‘Suda51’ Suda (known for the creation of Shadows of the Damned and Lollipop Chainsaw).
The upcoming Hotel Barcelona is a 2.5D action sidescroller and slasher featuring roguelite elements. The game follows the story of Justine, a federal marshal who shares her mind with a murderer known as Dr. Carnival, as she finds herself trapped in a mysterious hotel located in a remote area on the border between Pennsylvania and West Virginia, along with America’s most dangerous serial killers. Protagonist’s major goal is to kill seven Slash Killers and try to survive long enough to escape.
Every time Justine dies, a memory of her past self is born as a Slasher Phantom, which repeats her exact movements from the previous run, deals real damage to enemies, and can be used as a shield, ally, or decoy.

Hotel Barcelona features seven different areas to explore, each inspired by a different subgenre of horror and ending with a boss fight against one of the Slash Killers. The first three levels are called Slasher Slugger, Chainsaw Sausage from Hell, and The Stranger, according to the title’s Steam page.
The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC via Steam.
