Key points

  1. A major piracy haven for Nintendo Switch games has been taken down by the FBI.
  2. The website popped up around late 2020, based on captures from the Wayback Machine.
  3. Nintendo does not shy away from shutting down piracy and similar activities.

On July 10, 2025, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation announced that it had taken down the internet domain nsw2u.com. The website was a major piracy haven for Nintendo Switch games, where gamers could simply download the software they wanted and play it free of charge.

Accessing the website now leads to a page showing a picture indicating that the website has been seized. The site popped up around late 2020, based on captures from the Wayback Machine. Exploring the website shows that it has first-party games such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Additionally, the website also contained games from other consoles such as PlayStation and Xbox. There is an emulator tab present on the site, presumably a link that directs people to a page where the site stores emulators that gamers can download and use to be able to play these games.

Nintendo does not shy away from shutting down piracy and similar activities regarding its intellectual properties. The company actively sues studios, companies or individuals it deems to have infringed its copyrights. An example of this is Nintendo’s ongoing lawsuit against Pocket Pair regarding Palworld.
