Astro Bot Adds Five New Levels and Final Fantasy VII Collaboration

Team Asobi added five additional levels to Astro Bot on July 10, 2025. The five new levels bring the total number of levels to over 90; included alongside the update were five collaboration bots, including Cloud and Sephiroth, which saw initial push back before their release in the PlayStation 5 exclusive.
Here are the five new bots released with the new Astro Bot update:
- 2B (Nier Automata)
- Cloud (Final Fantasy VII)
- Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII)
- Serge (Chrono Cross)
- Atsu (Ghost of Yotei)
In addition to the five new bots, five new trophies were added in the update:
- Springy Rescue (Bronze)
- Slimy Rescue (Bronze)
- Hanging Rescue (Bronze)
- Pumping Rescue (Bronze)
- Impossible Rescue (Silver)
Astro Bot was released on Sept. 6, 2024, on PlayStation 5 as a platform exclusive; the game plays as a 3D platformer developed by Team Asobi.
The title won Game of the Year 2024 at The Game Awards and also won the Game Award for Best Game Direction. Astro Bot won in 5 of 17 categories at the twenty-first ceremony of the BAFTA Games Awards on April 8, 2025, at Queen Elizabeth Hall. Since its release, the game has sold over 2.3 million units; this figure was taken from March 2025.
