- Alan “Nephew” Sun won The Mixup 2025 and qualified for the Esports World Cup 2025.
- Most of his tournament sets in the top 8 of the tournament reached the very last game.
- Street Fighter 6’s next major tournament is Blink Respawn 2025.
Alan “Nephew“ Sun has won the Street Fighter 6 bracket at The Mixup 2025, a tournament held from July 5, 2025, to July 6, 2025, in Lyon, France. It’s part of the Road to Esports World Cup (EWC), which is a set of tournaments that hand out qualifications to the aforementioned World Cup.
While Nephew dominated the grand final match against Benjamin “Problem X” Simon, winning 3-0, his path toward it wasn’t as clean. Most of his matches went to the last possible game, resulting in 3-2 records long before his top 8 matches. Nevertheless, he overcame these obstacles to qualify for the EWC.
His grand final opponent, Problem X, is one of Europe’s most accomplished Street Fighter players. He won EVO 2018 for Street Fighter 5 and also competed at last year’s EWC.
Claude Eric “Hurricane” Diboti had a great run in this tournament. He’s a 33-year-old Cammy main born in Cameroon. He does not travel that much to other countries, but he’s a very solid player. He’s gotten strong wins against players such as Yeh “HotDog29” Man-ho and Hikaru “Hikaru” Nakatani.
The next major Street Fighter 6 tournament that’s a member of the Road to EWC is Blink Respawn 2025 in the Dominican Republic. The tournament is also a premier event of the Capcom Pro Tour, which means the winner will automatically qualify for the Capcom Cup 12.
