Naraka: Bladepoint celebrates its 4th anniversary by launching Fission Season on June 8, 2025, which will bring a new Extraction Mode, add a new hero, and introduce a special collaboration.
This free-to-play wuxia battle royale title was developed by 24 Entertainment and published by NetEase Games Montreal for Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, as well as for Android and iOS smartphones.
The game’s new Extraction Mode, titled Rift Traversal, is centered around the melee weapon combat of Naraka: Bladepoint and will be released on July 8, 2025, simultaneously with the launch of the new season. The new mode will allow players to forge more high-level weapons with unique effects.
Besides the new equipment, a Mole Hook will be added to the game. Also, a new cultivation system outside of matches, featuring equipment crafting, item trading, attribute upgrades, and the creation of personal collection rooms, will be introduced to Naraka: Bladepoint in the upcoming Fission season.
On top of that, the new hero Inor Wan, known as Thunder’s Voice, with the ability to transform into lightning and move rapidly across the battlefield, will join the game on an unspecified date.
Naraka: Bladepoint will also introduce two new cosmetics: the dual-form extreme outfit of Yoto Hime – Doll Dream and the extreme skin for the weapon Katana, based on the Tai Chi Yin-Yang Fish – Blade Mystique. The original cosmetic project, Reversal Flows, will gradually roll out during the Fission season.
The game will also see a comeback of its 2nd anniversary collab with NieR: Automata and NieR: Replicant on July 9, 2025.
Initially released on August 12, 2021, Naraka: Bladepoint allows up to 60 players to fight in last-one-standing battles. The game incorporates martial arts-inspired melee combat and features a combat system with a rock-paper-scissors core, where attack beats dodge, dodge beats block, and block beats attack.
As of the time of writing, Naraka: Bladepoint has a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam with 285,639 reviews and an all-time peak of 385,770 concurrent players.
Since its launch, Naraka: Bladepoint has sold over 6 million copies globally, before it transitioned to a free-to-play model on July 13, 2023. As of mid-2025, the game had amassed over 40 million players worldwide across all platforms.
