Patch 1.01.4 for Elden Ring: Nightreign was officially released on Jly 2, 2025, for all platforms where the game is available.
The new patch fixes multiple minor bugs and is required for installation for online play.

Due to Patch 1.01.4, the weapon type will now be displayed in each Armament Information menu. A bug where matchmaking would continually fail after two players joined and left the team at the same time was fixed, as was a bug where acquiring the gesture It’s Raining! through Multiplayer wouldn’t register properly.
Additionally, a bug where playable characters might revive from a near-death state without being defeated during the battle with the third-day boss, after leaving a session and returning from the title screen, was also fixed.
Furthermore, starting with Patch 1.01.4, background music in the Recluse Remembrance will play properly when certain conditions are met.
Among other things, Patch 1.01.4 fixed a bug where quitting the game immediately after fulfilling the clearing conditions of Shifting Earth: Crater would prevent the The Crater achievement from being awarded, despite clearing the area.
On top of that, according to the developer, Patch 1.01.4 fixed several other instances of unspecified bugs.
The place of action in Elden Ring: Nightreign is a procedurally generated land called Limveld. While the game has a single-player mode, it is intended to be played cooperatively by teams of three players, who must collaborate during three in-game days to prepare for the final boss. The game features a shrinking gameplay area that resets each time players defeat the minor boss at the end of an in-game day. While the title intends cooperation, it is missing both voice and text chat.
Developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, Elden Ring: Nightreign was released on May 30, 2025. The game is a cooperative spinoff of the famed Elden Ring, which was directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki with worldbuilding by George R. R. Martin, author of A Song of Ice and Fire. Nightreign is playable on PlayStation 4|5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
As of the time of writing, Elden Ring: Nightreign has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with 84,502 reviews and a peak of 313,593 concurrent players, according to SteamDB. Elden Ring: Nightreign has sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide just five days after launch.
