In an exclusive with IGN, Hyperkin announced a new guitar controller featuring swappable parts. IGN claims that over 2 million players play Fortnite Festival, supposedly marking a resurgence of demand for the guitar controller.

Drakong InfinaKore Telecaster Edition – Developer Overview

The controller has a fretboard in the form of a D-pad, located toward the bottom of the fingerboard. This design language allows users to strum purely with the board, which is possible because typical guitar controllers mimic a D-pad with strumming. In addition, the guitar features a home button, system buttons, a hidden 3.5 aux port and a Type-C port on the back.

The left and right side bodies are fully removable, allowing creators to 3D print their own bodies and create their personalized guitar. Notches on the strum bar allow creators to attach their own attachments, opening the opportunity for 3D printers to customize the shape. The tuner head is also removable, alongside the guitar frets. Hyperkin will post the template of the guitar online, thereby helping promote creativity.

Hyperkin’s upcoming guitar controller supports both left- and right-handed users, a feature not seen in the majority of guitar controllers. IGN’s video has further specifications regarding the design language surrounding the guitar controller’s design, featuring the creator’s insight.
