Following the disappointing introduction of the trade feature, Pokémon TCG Pocket is sending free 1000 trade tokens to all players.

In a Twitter post made on February 5, Pokémon TCG Pocket players are notified that they will be receiving 1000 trade tokens via the gifts menu in the app. These trade tokens are the compensation for the negative reception of the trading system.

Pokémon TCG Pocket introduced trading to the game on January 28 to the community’s dismay. The reason for its bad reception is due to how strict the trading rules are. The community’s outrage was followed by a quick response from the studio recognizing the problems with the system that is currently in place.

According to the developers, the restrictions were made to fight against bots and other prohibited actions using multiple accounts. However, they now understand that through player feedback, the restrictions they put are also preventing players from casually enjoying the feature. As such, they’re currently looking for ways to improve it. They also added that they’re going to look for multiple ways to offer trade tokens. The announcement today seems to be one of the ways they mentioned.

Pokémon TCG Pocket is a mobile game published by The Pokémon Company. In the game, players can open packs and add cards to their collection. More competitive players can use these cards to build decks to battle with other players. With how random the cards are in the packs, the trading system was supposed to be there to help players complete their Pokédex or decks.
