- The collaboration will run from July 1 until July 14.
Overwatch 2 announced its collaboration with G.I. Joe, which will see five heroes receiving new skins inspired by the film. According to a press release published by the developers, the five characters receiving skins are Genji, Freja, Widowmaker, Reaper and Doomfist.
Genji’s skin is going to be an homage to Snake Eyes, Freja’s for Scarlett, Widowmaker’s for Baroness, Reaper’s for Cobra Commander and Doomfist’s for Destro. All of these are beloved characters from the franchise.
The skins can be bought individually through Hero Bundles, but a G.I. Joe Mega Bundle is also available for players who want to get every skin in one go. Additionally, players will also be offered special ops challenges throughout the collaboration.
These challenges unlock exclusive rewards such as signature voice lines, sprays and weapon charms. Winning the game while progressing through the challenges will double the progress. All of the rewards coming from the challenges are an homage to the American media franchise.
Overwatch 2’s collaboration with G.I. Joe will start on July 1 and end on July 14. Once that’s done, players won’t be able to purchase the bundles anymore. Overwatch 2’s latest collaboration is with Street Fighter 6, which happened on May 19, 2025.
