Google reportedly released its standalone Instant Games app on June 17, 2025. The app serves as a home to a selection of YouTube Playables, according to a report from Mobile Gamer.biz. Though it was released on June 17, the app appears to not be readily available despite having been listed and downloaded by over 10,000 users.

Gaming.News took a quick look at the official app posting, which states, “this app is not available for any of your devices.” The Gaming.News representative has a Google Pixel 9 Pro and a Samsung S20 Ultra, and is located within the United States. Despite not being readily available, Mobile Gamer.biz reports that the app is available in 44 markets across LatAm, MENA, SEA, and the US. Whether or not this report is accurate is currently not known. No reviews for the app have been posted.
Pocket Gamer speculates that the Instant Games App is Google’s way of competing with Apple’s recently teased Apple Games App, which is slated to launch in the fall of 2025. Apple’s app is marketed to serve as a central hub for games and gaming features.
YouTube Playables are interactive HTML5 games that can be played directly within the YouTube app and website; they are accessible without additional downloads or installations.
