Disco Elysium is slated for launch on Android devices on August 5, 2025, as announced by the game’s developer and publisher, ZA/UM.
Designed for short, episodic play sessions, Disco Elysium on Android shifts away from the original’s isometric RPG mechanics to a visual novel–style experience optimized for vertical screens.
The game follows a troubled, habitual drunkard detective who has lost his memory, badge, gun, and even a basic understanding of the surrounding world. While investigating a murder alongside a detective from another precinct, the player can piece together the puzzle of the protagonist’s identity and uncover what led him to such a state.
Disco Elysium was initially released for Windows PC on October 15, 2019, and then in April 2020 for macOS. The title’s expanded version, featuring full voice acting and new content and subtitled The Final Cut, was released for PlayStation 4|5, Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S in 2021, alongside a free update for the PC versions.
As of April 2024, estimates suggest that Disco Elysium has sold approximately 5 to 6 million copies, with total gross revenue exceeding $200 million. On top of that, the game was nominated for four awards at The Game Awards 2019, and won all of them, the most at the event. In total, Disco Elysium has won 12 industry awards across various categories.
Earlier this year, ZA/UM revealed Project [C4], a spy-themed game the studio is currently working on. The title’s plot is set against a backdrop of complex geopolitical conflicts and will explore themes of betrayal, allegiance, and the high-stakes world of espionage.
