A cinematic cut of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is set to be screened at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF), one of Central and Eastern Europe’s oldest and most prestigious film festivals.
In an X post, Warhorse Studios stated that it is honored to feature the game in the film festival. They added that the premiere of the film will be on July 9 and that the studio considers the opportunity as “a proud moment for games as a serious storytelling medium.”
It’s worth noting that the studio will not show a film adaptation of the game, but scenes from the game itself, edited to be a cinematic experience. There’s not much information about what this project will look like.
A KVIFF press release revealed that Daniel Vávra and Petr Pekař are credited as the film’s directors. The former is the game’s lead writer, and the latter is Warhorse Studios’ cinematic director.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II was released on Feb. 4, 2025, for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It reached more than 3 million copies sold in May and has an all-time peak concurrent players of 256,206 on Steam.
