Ubisoft Claims It’s Still Developing Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake

On June 16, the official Prince of Persia X account published a post saying that they are still “deep in the game” and “ensuring the sands move with purpose.” This statement is followed by an emoji of a dagger and an hourglass, signifying a Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake.

In addition to that, the developers mentioned that they are pouring their hearts into every step and that the game is being made by a “team that truly cares.” They then promoted The Rogue Prince of Persia as something to play while fans wait.

In October 2024, IGN reported the disbandment of the development team that worked behind Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. According to the article, the game did not meet Ubisoft’s expectations, which led to the team’s disbandment and being reassigned around the studio, as some of Ubisoft’s projects are in need of help.

In early May, Ubisoft celebrated the 2-million-player milestone of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. The studio published a post on X, saying that “the Prince is back, and believe us – he’s just warming up.”

Prince of Persia’s latest game is The Lost Crown, which came out in 2024. The next entry to the franchise is going to be The Rogue Prince of Persia, coming out this August. Just like the previous entry, it will return to its roots as a 2D side-scrolling game. As of the writing of this article, it’s only confirmed to be available on PC.
