The remake of 1999’s Silent Hill was announced during the Konami Press Start livestream on June 12, 2025. The game will be developed by the Bloober Team in cooperation with Konami.

SILENT HILL - in development

Developed by Team Silent, a group within Konami, and published by Konami only for the PlayStation, the first installment in the Silent Hill video game series follows the story of Harry Mason, who is trying to find his missing adopted daughter. The game features five different endings, depending on the actions taken by the player, including a humorous one.

Notably, in order to mitigate the limitations of the console hardware of that time, the game’s developers used distance fog, which became the hallmark of the series, to obscure the graphics and hide popping-up creatures.

The original Silent Hill sold over 2 million copies worldwide. The direct sequel to the game’s story is 2003’s Silent Hill 3.
