Early Sales Records Signal Nintendo Switch 2 Could Become France’s Top Console Ever

|
- A French sales insider reports that the Nintendo Switch 2 has sold over 200,000 units in France.
- This sales record beat PlayStation 5’s in France, making Switch 2 the fastest-selling console in the country.
- Analysts predicted that the Switch 2’s release would be the biggest console launch in history.
The Nintendo Switch 2 seems to be having great sales in France, as a French sales insider reports that the console has reached 200,000 units sold within its first week. This tops PlayStation 5’s 107,000 units sold during its first week, making the Switch 2 the fastest-selling console in France.
According to Pierre485, Nintendo has generated over €130 million in just four days. They also added that 95% of the people who bought the Switch 2 also bought Mario Kart World. The original poster of the sales information also included that the PS5 Pro did not exceed 10,000 units during the same time frame.
While it seems to be going well for the new Nintendo console, Pierre485 warned that until Nintendo confirms the sales of the Switch 2, the information it puts out should be considered a “rumor.” Additionally, he also mentioned that one of the two market trackers in France has not yet given its estimates, making the numbers a little volatile.
Before the release of Switch 2, analysts predicted that it would be the biggest console launch in history. While the demand for the console remains high, Nintendo will be the one to confirm how many units have actually been sold.
While the console seems to be having a smooth launch in France, some people in the US have had rough luck with their units, as it was found that GameStop employees had accidentally stapled the screen of a few Switch 2 consoles. The store plans to replace the broken consoles.
