- Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members can access the games.
Nintendo Online added three games to its online GameCube catalog: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, F-Zero GX and Soulcalibur II. Users who have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription + Expansion Pack can access the following titles only on the Switch 2. These games are not available on the predecessor console.
The following GameCube titles are only available on the Switch 2. A look at the store posting states gamers can also play the titles “on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, and Nintendo Switch 2 systems,” but Nintendo’s official posting is incorrect. Gaming.News play tested the original Nintendo Switch to check for Switch 1 compatibility, but the Nintendo Online App states that the software is not supported on the device.
Purchasing the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, which costs $49.99, grants access to all the prior perks alongside N64, GBA, Sega Genesis and GameCube games. The expansion subscription also provides subscribers with DLCs for select titles, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The Nintendo Switch 2 launched on June 5, 2025. The console was one of the most anticipated gaming devices in the past couple of years, largely thanks to the major success of its predecessor, the Nintendo Switch 1.
