Elden Ring: Nightreign to Receive Duo Mode and DLC Later in 2025 as Game Sells 3.5M Copies in Under One Week

Elden Ring Nightreign surpassed 3.5 million copies sold globally, according to a post from the game’s developer, FromSoftware, on X (formerly Twitter).
In a celebratory post, Elden Ring Nightreign’s developer appreciated all the game’s players and announced that the title will continue receiving post-launch support, including a two-player mode and a DLC scheduled for release later in 2025. FromSoftware also stated that it is planning to release enhanced versions of the existing Night Lords starting from June 2025.
Published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, a spin-off and prequel to Elden Ring was launched on May 30, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S and surpassed 2 million units sold across all platforms within 24 hours of release.
Notably, with the recent patch 1.01.1, solo mode in Elden Ring Nightreign received a lowered difficulty, as the update added the effect titled “Automatic Revival Upon Defeat” to solo expeditions, providing revival once per night boss battle. On top of that, the amount of runes gained from solo expeditions was increased with the patch.
As of the time of writing, Elden Ring Nightreign featured a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam, with 42,494 reviews and an all-time peak of 313,593 concurrent players, according to SteamDB.
