Nintendo Switch 2’s N64 Classics to Feature Rewind and CRT Filter Options

|
- The Switch 2 will have a rewind feature for classic Nintendo 64 titles.
- CRT Filter allows N64 games to go back to their original resolution.
- Control customization options are available as well for both iterations of the Switch.
Classic N64 titles on the Nintendo Switch 2 will have a rewind feature alongside an option to play on a CRT filter, which are exclusive to the Switch 2. Control customization will be available for both iterations of the Switch.
In a showcase video, Nintendo presented Super Mario 64 while utilizing the rewind feature, thereby minimizing punishments from in-game platforming mistakes.
“If you make a mistake, easily rewind gameplay and try again,” the video reads.
The CRT feature brings back the look of a CRT television, while control customization allows players to remap the buttons to their liking. Control customization is available on both iterations of the Nintendo Switch, while the other two options are exclusive to the upcoming console.
Nintendo N64 classics are included as part of the Nintendo Switch Online base subscription. The base Nintendo Switch subscription costs $19.99 for 12 months, or $3.99 per month. A Nintendo Switch 2 has already begun circulating in public, but Nintendo locked the device behind a day 1 patch, preventing leaks before the console’s official release on June 5, 2025.
