Han “Mulgold” Jae-gyun won the Tekken 8 side of the bracket at Combo Breaker 2025 over Atif Ijaz. Mulgold waited for him on the winner’s side and proceeded to showcase some of the cleanest Tekken 8 matches in the tournament to take the title home with a 3-0 sweep.
The EVO Japan 2025 champion, Knee, was also in attendance; however, he was sent to the loser’s side after losing to Mulgold in a back-and-forth set in the winner’s final. He finished third in the tournament.
On his way to the grand final, Mulgold defeated Atif 2-1 in a back-and-forth top 8 matchup, sending the latter to the loser’s side of the bracket. After dropping down, he immediately fought five-time EVO Champion Arslan “Arslan Ash” Siddique and beat him 2-0.
The previous Combo Breaker champion, Alexandre “AK” Laverez, also attended the tournament but was eliminated, finishing 9th. He narrowly missed qualification for the Esports World Cup 2025.
According to fighting game personality Alex Jebailey, since all four players on the winner’s side of the top 8 bracket had already qualified for the Esports World Cup 2025, the qualifications will be awarded to the rest of the people who qualify for the top 8. Because of this, these four players are going to the Esports World Cup 2025:
- Arslan “Arslan Ash” Siddique
- Lee “Edge” Ju-hyung
- Jeong “Rangchu” Hyeon-ho
- Yoon “LowHigh” Sun-woong
Tekken 8’s next tournament will be Battle Arena Melbourne 2025. The top four will qualify for the Esports World Cup.
