Shin “Leshar” Moon-sup defeated Hiromiki “Itabashi Zangief” Kumada to win the Street Fighter 6 bracket at Combo Breaker 2025. Leshar came from the loser’s side of the bracket, losing to Masato “Bonchan” Takahashi even before the tournament’s top 24.
Because Leshar came from the loser’s bracket, he had to defeat Itabashi Zangief twice in a row to win the tournament. First, to bring him down to the loser’s bracket with him, and second, to eliminate him from the tournament.
His matches against Goichi “GO1” Kishida and Bonchan in the top 8 were a rollercoaster where he showed just how much his adaptation was superior to everyone else at the venue. Both sets featured him losing the first two games and then taking the last three games to win the set.
Itabashi Zangief, despite being one of the more seasoned players in the fighting game scene, proved he can still go toe-to-toe with the younger generation. His matches against both Bonchan and Kevin “Dual Kevin” Barrios ended with convincing 3-1 victories, with the showdown against Bonchan standing out as one of the tournament’s most thrilling matches. He clutched out the win with just a pixel of health, relying on sharp instincts and masterful mind games to seal the deal.
Leshar, after winning Combo Breaker 2025, has qualified for the Capcom Cup 12. Both Itabashi Zangief and Dual Kevin have received Capcom Pro Tour Points and qualified for the Esports World Cup 2025.
Street Fighter 6’s next tournament is Battle Arena Melbourne 15 in Australia. It starts next week, and the first-place finisher will be qualified for the Esports World Cup 2025.
