Key points
  1. Bandai Namco Entertainment announced Fahkumram as Tekken 8’s next DLC character.
  2. He was first introduced in Tekken 7, where he didn’t have a positive reputation.
  3. Bandai also announced an upcoming balance patch tailored to making the game less aggressive.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that the next DLC character after Anna Williams is Fahkumram. The character will join the game this summer and receive a gameplay trailer at Combo Breaker 2025, which takes place from May 23 to May 25.

Fahkumram was first introduced in Tekken 7 and is a Muay Thai specialist. His addition to the roster back then wasn’t received well because he was overpowered. His play style was very aggressive, and his hurt box wasn’t consistent. This resulted in some combos not working on the character.

In Tekken 7, he was added just after Leroy Smith, another character who was also broken at launch. Leroy’s overpowered nature even led to character specialists switching to the character.

Aside from Fahkumram, Bandai also announced a few things that will be added to the game:

  • Pac-Pixels Stage (Pac-Man collaboration stage)
  • Collaboration with Karate Kid Legends
  • Cyber Phantom Pack/Vigilante Tech Pack Costumes
  • Classic Costumes

A balance patch coming to the game on May 13 was also announced. It’s a continuation of Bandai’s effort to lessen Tekken 8’s aggression and win back the favor of the players.

Tekken 8 was released on Jan. 26, 2024, for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game received a “Universal Acclaim” rating on Metacritic and even won Best Fighting Game at the Game Awards 2024. However, Tekken 8’s Season 2 has turned its players against it, as they did not like the direction the game is going.
