Dwarf Fortress Steam Edition - Launch Trailer

Dwarf Fortress was created by brothers Zach and Tarn Adams under the name of Bay 12 Games development studio. They began developing the game in the early 2000s and released its first free version in 2006. That classic version of Dwarf Fortress is still available for download from the project’s official website. A paid edition with graphical tiles and a new soundtrack was published by Kitfox Games and released to Steam and Itch.io in 2022.

The news is coming on the heels of the recent release of four documentary series about Dwarf Fortress by Noclip, a venture that makes crowdfunded video game documentaries.
